Community Events
The SBCRA is committed to providing opportunities for the community get together and involved in activities that look after our local area.
We coordinate four free community events each year including:
Clean up Australia Day – held on the first Sunday in March from 8am-midday, this event gets the community helping to clean up litter in our local bushland and streets. It is one of Lane Cove’s largest Clean up Australia Day events.
Wild About Lane Cove Wildlife Event – a resident favourite, particularly with young children and families, this event, held in partnership with Lane Cove Council at the end of Term 1 at Mindarie Park, gives the community a chance to get up close and person with local wildlife in a safe, educational and entertaining way.
Bushcare Day Out – held on a Sunday morning in September in the bushland just below Mindarie Park, this event is great for all ages giving participants the opportunity to be introduced to Bushcare activities including weeding and planting. Morning tea provided by Lane Cove Council and there is often a guided bushwalk through the Batten Reserve bushland.
SBCRA Christmas Party – held at Tantallon Oval in December our annual Christmas Party is a great way to meet your neighbours and people in the local community. Santa always pays a visit, and children under 12 love the early Christmas gifts.
