The Stringybark Creek Bushcare Group’s event for Bushcare’s National Major Day Out on Sunday 8 September was a great success.

Over 40 local residents including a large number of children enjoyed a guided bush walk on the newly upgraded track in the Batten Reserve and then spent time planting around a pond to create a friendly habitat for native frogs.

The morning was completed with a BBQ provided lunch and refreshments provided by Lane Cove Council.

West Ward Councillors Bennison and Strassberg joined the group for the mornings activities.

All those who attended agreed the volunteers who have been regenerating the bushland in Batten Reserve since 1994, have been doing a superb job!
